  2022-07-14

Patients with SCI often develop chronic neuropathic pain, which further deteriorates their quality of life [5]. This condition results from functional and structural plastic changes that occur centrally following injury to spinal cord neurons and glia, and include changes in receptor function and si

Following the discovery of β-diketo compounds S-1360 [31] and L-731988 [32] as anti-HIV integrase inhibitors, a group of researchers discovered a potent CGP 42112 based derivative (1) as the inhibitor of HIV integrase functioning at the 3′-processing and strand transfer steps of HIV integrase. Bioa

Here we examine the impact of hypoxia on lake whitefish (Coregonus clupeaformis) during embryonic and larval development. Lake whitefish are a cold-water salmonid endemic to North America and are found from western Alaska, USA to eastern Labrador in Canada. Spawning occurs from late autumn to early

In addition to understanding the GEF-GAP cycle regulating Rho-family GTPases, studies have continued to address the role of the Rho-GDIs, which binds to the geranylgeranyl tail to sequester Rho-family GTPases from interacting with lipid membranes, preventing their activation. Whilst it would be temp

Antibiotic treatment suggests that cancer-promoting bacteria arise from the EPZ004777 of Grp109a mice. How does the lack of Gpr109a signaling lead to expansion of potentially cancer-promoting bacteria? Is this phenomenon related to improper development of intestinal Treg cells? Biome with cancer-pr

Introduction The third variable (V3) loop of the gp120 envelope glycoprotein (Env) on the surface of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) becomes exposed after the virus binds CD4, the initial receptor; the V3 loop plays an important role in contacting the coreceptor CCR5 or CXCR4 to media

  2022-07-13

Evolution of multiple GnRH forms and GnRH receptors across vertebrates GnRH is an evolutionary ancient peptide that first appears prior to the protostome-deuterostome split, and is a member of the GnRH-adipokinetic hormone-corazonin superfamily of peptides (Roch et al., 2011, Roch et al., 2014).

  2022-07-13

Recent studies revealed that synthetic oligomeric Aβ1-42 decreased GLT-1 expression and promoted mislocalization of GLT-1 from the cell surface of primary astrocytes, leading to glutamate dyshomeostasis in synapses (Abdul et al., 2009, Scimemi et al., 2013). Some of the key aspects of the myofibroblasts’ biology, including their signaling sensitivity and residual regenerative potential, are shaped by their origin. In this respect, lineage studies on myofibroblast precursors are critical for increasing our understanding of the natural history of fibrosis

In the phylum Cnidaria, which separated from the main line of Metazoa early during evolution, FGFR signaling is essential during development and morphogenesis.
