  2022-08-12

Hepatic drug-metabolizing L002 receptor and transporters expression were regulated by nuclear receptors [19], [20], [21]. The effects of HFD-induced fatty liver on drug metabolizing enzymes in mice were recently studied, and the results provided a systematic evaluation of the changes of nuclear rec

  2022-08-12

In the spinal cord, EAAT1 constitutes 40% of all high-affinity EAATs, and it is abundantly present in lumbar dorsal horn (Queen et al., 2007). In physiological conditions, EAATs remove glutamate from the synaptic cleft by co-transporting glutamate and sodium into adjacent glial cells. The inefficien

  2022-08-12

Our data suggest that Slc38a5 is important for amino-acid-induced α cell proliferation and expansion of α cell mass following GCGR inhibition, but not for formation and maintenance of α cell mass. This is supported by the finding that Slc38a5−/− mice have normal α cell mass. This is interesting sinc

We also evaluated the effect of varying ionic strength. These experiments included previously characterized H3 (residues 1–21) and SNAIL (residues 1–9) peptides [8], [34] to allow a comparative analysis with different ligands (Fig. 1A). As shown in Fig. 2 and listed in Table 2, it is evident that a

Here, we show that Hippo signaling components are expressed during epicardium formation. To determine the significance of Yap and Taz in the developing epicardium, we generated epicardium-specific Yap/Taz double-knockout mice. Genetic deletion of Yap and Taz using Sema3d mice leads to embryonic leth

  2022-08-11

In addition to acting as the gatekeeper for the metabolic and antioxidant roles of glucose, HKs have also been found to regulate mPTP opening directly. First described in the cancer field, the high-affinity HK isoforms HK1 and HK2 are strongly anti-apoptotic when bound to the outer mitochondrial mem

  2022-08-11

The inhibitory activities of new compounds against P. aeruginosa were determined in both DTSB media supplemented with heme or free iron and LB media (Table 1). The MIC50 values of the compounds ranged from 42 to 260 μg/mL in DTSB medium and from 26 to 230 μg/mL in LB medium. Among these new inhibito

NCSs are α-helical proteins containing four EF-hand motifs with EF1 being incapable of Ca-binding throughout the family (atomic-resolution structure was firstly resolved for recoverin [5]; for review on NCS structure, see [6]). Some of the NCS proteins (i.e. recoverin and KChIP3) have two while othe

Initial studies generally focused on the co-administration of glutamate with transport inhibitors and clearly revealed the ability of the blockers to exacerbate excitotoxic injury in both in vitro and in vivo models (McBean & Roberts, 1985, Robinson et al., 1993a).
