  2023-11-09

Osteoblasts have been thought to be the major cell type that expresses RANKL (Suda et al., 1999) which is a ligand for osteoprotegerin (OPG) and which functions as a key factor for osteoclast differentiation and activation. Recently, Nakashima and his colleagues (Nakashima et al., 2011) demonstrated

In the U.S., surveillance of ACEs has garnered traction at the state level through administration of the ACE Optional Module in CDC’s Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) (Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, 2003). Since 2009, select states have implemented the ACEs optional modu

Conclusion This is the first report to show that treatment of lung cancer cell lines, A549 and H1299, with ovatodiolid stimulates intracellular reactive oxygen species generation and induces DNA damage. Subsequently activates ATM/ATR and CHK1/2 signaling pathway, inhibits CDC25C and p21WAF1/CIP1,

Several structural 2 hydroxyglutarate mg of ASK1 inhibitors, mostly from industry but also from academia, have been identified over the last decade. In 2012, Terao et al. (Takeda) reported imidazo[1,2-α]pyridine () as a potent ASK1 inhibitor derived from structure-based drug design. GSK, Merck and

• The regulation of gene expression by glucocorticoids

  2023-11-08

The regulation of gene expression by glucocorticoids can be mediated either by the canonical mechanism that involves the interaction of the glucocorticoid receptor (GR), a transcription factor activated by the hormone, with glucocorticoid response element (Ye et al., 2007), or by the non-canonical m

There are several reports providing evidences that functional and mechanistic connection between Sirt1 and LKB1/AMPK in metabolic regulation [26], [32], [33]. It has been reported that the deacetylation of LKB1 by Sirt1 is one of the determining factors of the subcellular localization of LKB1. In ag

These findings suggest that eventually more than one 12/15-lipoxygenase isoform may play a role in human atherosclerosis. Humans have two 12-lipoxygenases and two 15-lipoxygenases which show different expression patterns, substrate specificities and stereo-selective metabolism [1]. However, in Cycli
