  2024-10-01

Oocytes from the African clawed frog Xenopus laevis have been widely used as an expression system to study the modulation of NMDA receptors by metabotropic receptors, such as metabotropic glutamate receptors [12], μ opioid receptors [13], insulin receptors [14] and serotonin receptors [15]. No data

  2024-10-01

Introduction Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most difficult cancers to treat, and it threatens human health severely [1]. Although various interventions, including surgical operation, radiofrequency ablation, and chemotherapy, have been endorsed, the prognosis of HCC patients remains p

• Gene regulation of MMPs is influenced by the transcription

  2024-10-01

Gene regulation of MMPs is influenced by the transcription factor activating factor-1 (AP-1). AP-1 complexes are heterodimers of proteins of the two proto-oncogene families (jun and fos) and have DC260126 in the promoter region of MMPs, as well as in genes mediating inflammatory responses. The tran

Another major problem leading to implant failures is post-implant infections, majorly due to bacteria adhesion [13,36,37]. A significant decrease in bacterial counts (~65–90%) has been observed in HA and/or CNT-based composites reinforced with 2.5–10 wt% nano Ag [13,38], thus, drawing the conclusion

Prostate cancer and resistance to AR targeting treatment The AR plays a pivotal role in the development, differentiation, homeostasis and secretory function of the normal prostate (Wilson, 2011). The AR is also a key player in many phases of prostate carcinogenesis (Huggins et al., 1941, Scher an

Conclusions Introduction During numerous physiological processes, aldehydes are generated from a variety of endogenous and exogenous precursors including amino acids, carbohydrates, and lipids [1]. Most aldehydes are highly reactive and cytotoxic due to the strong electrophilic nature of the t

  2024-09-30

Furthermore, stress hormones can indirectly induce DNA damage, for example by altering DNA repair and transcriptional regulation of the cell cycle. It has been found that stress hormones induce the up-regulation of checkpoint kinase 1 (Chk1) and checkpoint kinase 2 (Chk2) and proto-oncogene cell div

  2024-09-30

Bioavailability has been defined as the amount of a drug given by any route, other than intravenously, that reaches general circulation and is available at the site of action [86]. The low bioavailability observed with the initial intravaginal devices (16%) was attributed to the melting point of the

  2024-09-30

The isoelectric point of CL-ARG was determined by native IEF at a berbamine gradient in the range (3–10) using standard protein markers with known isoelectric points. Native IEF reveals the presence of only one major band for CL-ARG with a slightly neutral-basic pI value of about 7.7. The calculate

The incremental reduction, albeit not statistically significant, in collagen I with LCZ696 compared to perindopril treated animals, may therefore be related to a more compliant ventricle in LCZ696-treated animals. This is not so surprising given the incremental anti-fibrotic effect of the active met
